So today’s question is: Is PrizeRebel a scam?

To know the answer to this question, you have to know what PrizeRebel is.

PrizeRebel is a site where you can fill out surveys, sign up for newsletters, sites, and trials (and more) and get points for doing so. There are tons of free offers and some credit card/cell phone offers (if that’s what you’re interested in). 1 point = $1 (The point rate changed as of October 2012 – See this post) and there are a ton of prizes to choose from. On top of that, they even offer you the choice of custom prizes. It all sounds great, right?

So that’s where we come back to the question: Is PrizeRebel a scam?

No, PrizeRebel is not a scam! It is a legitimate website where you can get some great free stuff. You can get iTunes cards, stuff from Amazon, Nexon cards, gaming cards (WoW, Ultimate Gaming Card, XBOX Live) and so much more.

PrizeRebel is for users 13+ years old living in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

I just got a 360 and i was trying to get free MS points from there but I was wondering is it completely free and do they expire!!

You complete offers and surveys in exchange for points. There are tons of free ones you can do (so you never have to pay a dime) as well as several "not free" offers you can do, but they're completely optional and clearly listed under a different section. Then you turn around and spend your earned points on whatever item(s) you want – in your case, MS points. 1 points = $1 on PrizeRebel. As for expiring, do you mean the PrizeRebel points or the MS points?

You're right in saying it isn't a scam. This post proves that PrizeRebel is legit. However, don't come to my blog with your referral link and lie to get referrals. I've edited your referral link out of the comment and I took a screenshot to forward to the PrizeRebel staff. Bug off.

prize rebels IS a scam they ask you for personal info and then "ship your prize to you" but that is not true what the truth is "we sell your personal info and then we take the money get the prize to you but we just take 2x the money out of your credit card you gave to us." seem worth it now?

  • http://ngwoosh.com N.G. Woosh

It isn't a scam, you just didn't bother to read the details of what you signed up for. You're making all of the assumptions that too many people make, rather than seeing the facts.1. You get paid by PrizeRebel to sign up for advertisements that are paying PrizeRebel, and PrizeRebel is paying you a portion of it.2. PrizeRebel does not gather your personal information other than your shipping information when you order a prize. How can they sell it? Don't make claims if you don't bother to read how things work.3. The advertisers are looking for real signups, and yes some of them do charge you, but it is YOUR responsibility to realize what you are signing up for. Nobody is going to babysit you. Mommy isn't going to hold your hand. READ THE FINE PRINT OF THE AD.Yes, it is worth it, and I have the payment proof to show it. In the future, before making an ass of yourself, please bother to know what you are talking about.

What is prizerebel and does it work?
I keep reading question about whether or not to buy video games and almost every time I see someone advertising a site call prizerebel. They always state how they got a game for free. Can I get a honest testimonial where you can tell me if it’s a legit source for free video games? Also, how do they get those prizes to you?

Prizerebel is a site that lets you earn points by doing surveys and other offers. I can honestly say that it does work but it does take some time to earn points. So far I have only earned enough for 1 prize, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts. I received the game within a week completely free. My referral link is – if you want to sign up under me or you can just go to – I also created a blog with a guide to earn points faster and avoid using any personal information in the surveys. Here is the link -

Nice spam. Go build your own blog and you can write poorly written BS there. ;)

I’m removing your referral links but I’ll leave your comment for lolz.

      From PrizeRebel’s Terms of Service:

Section 2 – c. — “Users must reside in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada or Australia. Territories and APOs/FPOs are not eligible.”

Before signing up for any site it is important that you review the Terms of Service. Most people just “agree” to the terms without ever reading them, but this is one of the reasons you should take a moment to actually read the terms.

CashCrate (See the “Free Stuff” category on the right-hand sidebar) is a site that accepts memberships from other countries (though I did not specifically check for your country – you will have to check this), and there are multiple other sites listed here in various posts and on the sidebars that may accept membership from your country.

It is a scam. They will allow you to take hours of surveys, then when you go to cash in they will close your account.

I’ve been a member for years with no issues. You can see proof (evidence) that it isn’t a scam all around my site.

If your account was found to be in violation of their TOS, then you would have been banned. Always read the terms and know what you’re agreeing to.

It does take you alot of time to earn prizes…
if you ask me gifthulk is way faster earning then this.
By the time i could redeem one prize from prizerebel, i could redeem almost 2 on gifthulk…

    • http://amusingtome.com ngwoosh

I can’t say that either one was really faster for me (other than prize delivery… PrizeRebel seems to have some instant stuff now) in terms of earning the prizes, but it really comes down to what works best for you.

wait if 1 point is 1$ dosnt that mean we are paying 1500 dollars for a a 10 dollar card?

    • http://amusingtome.com ngwoosh

Haha, that would be pretty crazy wouldn’t it? This was posted in 2009 as you can see to the left of the title. The points rate was changed earlier this month. I posted about the major changes here.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

Edited to add the link to the new post. My HTML got stripped the first time.

      • Robloxhill@hotmail.com

i dont get it how much is 1 point worth now?

        • http://amusingtome.com ngwoosh

See the forum post for full change updates. Here’s the change specific to point value:

Points Inflation – You may notice that your points have been inflated by x100. So if you had 5 points before now you would see 500. You will see this change applied to all of your past stats such as prize claims, earnings, other transactions, referrals etc. The points inflation has been applied across the board to everything so essentially nothing has changed.

The best way to think about this is, it use to cost 5 points for a $5 Amazon gift card, now it will cost 500 points for the same item but your 5 points have been increased to 500 points. We made this change to 1) resolve the issue with some new users that are getting confused over decimal points and 2) Higher points will encourage new users to complete offers (50 points sounds like better than 0.50) which will benefit you if you refer users to our site. Rest assured that this was not a easy decision as many of you are used to our current system but we feel this is the best step for going forward and growing the site.
