Beware of “The Dollar Pit”

The owner of “The Dollar Pit” used to send me messages on Yahoo to ask me to post this or that on my blog. Today I’m posting a warning.

If you had signed up for this site previously, you received a signup bonus. Now, let me start by giving my opinion on bonuses: If I say I’m giving you $5 to do something, whether it’s sign up for my site, spend it on an item, whatever, that $5 is yours. Once I give it to you, I no longer own or have control over that money. That just seems pretty basic to me.

Apparently that isn’t true of “The Dollar Pit”. If you’re given a bonus, and suddenly the rules change, it’s time to take back that money. I don’t know what the signup bonus is now, nor do I really care, and after this post I’m moving on with my life and I probably won’t give the site a second thought. However, with that being said, please just know that if you sign up for the site, it’s at your own risk.

I had my attempt to withdraw money deleted twice, once without explanation. The second time told me to either earn more money (higher than the minimum) or give my bonus back. I replied thanking the owner for explaining, and providing my opinion, to receive a message that was pretty rude: “I don’t hesitate to pay members that do the work.” — I have done some work, I’ve posted blog posts at her request, made a graphic she requested for her site, and I was given a bonus. So much for paying members that do the work.

My personal argument with the rude email aside, I will say it again: “if you sign up for the site, it’s at your own risk.” I’m all for business policies, but “honesty is the best policy”.

Would I go so far as to call this site a scam? Probably not. She probably does pay some members, but I personally sure can’t prove it. ;)

    Bonus's are meant to be given as an incentive to do offers, If you don't do offers you don't get a bonus, All sorts of companies have rules that apply to bonus's they may give you such as you might have to come in for a test drive or take this 90 minute tour , This is no different and sometimes rules change, In this case the site owner made it better to offer lower cashout amounts and instead of causing members to loose the bonus she gave them an option to cashout lower with out the bonus or to cashout normal with the bonus

    Sounds like somebody is just upset because things arent going his way

    More realistically, the bonus was originally given to get members to join and to push towards proof of payment. Obviously you missed the point of the post. ;)

    Honestly in the end, I don't care if things “aren't going my way” — I'm not going to advertise a site for a dishonest owner.

    No bonus's are not given for proof of payments, Bonus is give for members to sign up and to encourage them to bring their bonus amount up to the full amount to cashout withI looked around this site and this site offers different bonus's for proof of payments so your theory is dead there – So obviously you missed that part of the siteIt's a free country your allowed to post what ever you want but you should at least get your facts straight before you slander an honest owner ….. I have been around GPT World long before there was even GPT and never fails a few people get mad and the first thing they wanna do is scream that someone is dishonest

    Actually, the bonus was openly given to push for payment proof. I joined this site right after it opened and communicated with the owner one on one multiple times, with chat logs.When I joined the site, the bonus was $5, and when it was lowered to $3 later that month I was told right off that older members would keep that bonus (via instant messenger) with no issues. Apparently that later changed, but I was left to figure that out on my own.You're right, I am allowed to post what I'd like on my blog, but I've only posted facts. I've been around these sites a while myself my friend, and I'm quite familiar with how they work. I've seen my share of honest and dishonest owners, and of course several scams too. This one falls under dishonest, and she used me multiple times for free advertisements and free labor. In the end I have chosen to remove my account from this dishonest owner's site, post this entry with my experience to warn others, and move on.I do enjoy your personal attacks and insinuations against me in these comments, and how you like to try and make yourself look good. You might wish to note that they don't prove you right even if they do make you feel important. ;)

    This is a very honest site and the owner is great. She is helpful and very nice. I’ve been with TheDollarPit since September 2010 and so far I’ve made over $150. Cashouts are made on the day they are requested without any problems. I agree with Fangpt that you are just upset that things didn’t go your way!

      I appreciate your opinion on it, but in all honesty your opinion really isn’t relevant in this situation. If I had it “my way” money would come by a lot easier for me over-all in life. ;) However, it isn’t a matter of things going “my way” but a matter of a dishonest site owner. My goal in writing this post was to get some facts out in the open regarding the situation and site. You’re free to re-read everything I said, because I’m really not interested in repeating myself to you.
